Adoption
Our primary goal is to find appropriate lifelong homes for rehabilitated
horses. If you are interested in adopting a horse contact us and please
read the adoption contract below.
We reserve the right to deny any adoption for any reason.

I,_________________ on today's date, hereby agree to adopt the horse described above,
and as consideration for such adoption, I agree to pay an adoption fee of $
__________US to the current owner Kindred Spirits and have agreed to abide by the
terms and conditions of this agreement for the duration of this horse's life.
TERMS OF ADOPTION
1. I agree to pay the full adoption fee (amount stated above)....
2. I guarantee that all information submitted to Kindred Spirits in e-mails and phone
conversations, and personally is true to the best of my knowledge.....
3. I agree to check-up visits/phone-calls/e-mails if necessary....
4. I hereby agree to accept all of the rights and responsibilities of horse ownership,
including regular hoof-, teeth and Vet-care, safe and adequate facilities (incl. pasture-
access and shelter)
5. I agree not to abuse, neglect or treat/use my adopted horse inappropriately, and will
prevent other adults and children from teasing or physically abusing my adopted horse....
6. I agree NOT to use this horse for commercial purposes.... (Exception possible, up to 20
hours per week)
7. I agree to the following: This horse will never be allowed to breed - intentionally or
unintentionally....
8. I acknowledge and agree that this animal has to remain in my possession, in my care
and under my supervision at all times ….
9. I agree that if for any reason I can no longer care for this horse, and/or wish to dispose
of it, I immediately will notify Kindred Spirits with written notice. I understand and agree that
Kindred Spirits reserves the right to buy back this horse for the price of original adoption
fee. If this horse doesn’t work out for any reason the horse will be returned to Kindred
Spirits and original adoption fee will be
refunded.
10. I agree to give written notification to Kindred Spirits within ten (10) days of any change
of address, phone, email or any other change of circumstances that will affect my adopted
horse...
11. RELEASE OF LIABILITY - I understand that Kindred Spirits makes no representation or
warranties as to this horse's TEMPERAMENT, HEALTH, BREED, AGE, COLOR,
CONDITION, PREGNANCY, SOUNDNESS, LEVEL OF TRAINING OR FITNESS OF MY
ADOPTED HORSE, OR ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR
ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSES...
I understand that this horse is adopted "as is" and I assume all responsibility for any and
all existing conditions and temperament changes that may occur.....
12. I understand that any failure to perform the foregoing agreement will constitute a
breach of contract....
I also agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the State of Washington, Stevens
County to resolve any and all disputes related to this Agreement and my adopted horse. ....
13. This document with original signature AND the deposit (__% of the total adoption fee)
must be received by Kindred Spirits within one week of the verbal adoption agreement,
otherwise Kindred Spirits has the right to declare any verbal and/or written agreements as
null and void. The remaining adoption fee (and other fees if applicable) must be paid in full
within __ weeks of this agreement and received by Kindred Spirits at least 5 days prior to
pick-up.
If the adopter decides to cancel the adoption after this agreement has been signed, the
deposit is NOT refundable - if the adoption fee has been paid in full before cancellation,
the adopter agrees to wait for the refund until this horse is adopted by someone else, and
the adoption fee has been received by Kindred Spirits.
However, if this adoption agreement has to be cancelled to no fault of the adopter, then all
adoption fees already paid are fully refundable.
The horse must be picked-up within __ weeks of this agreement, unless a different pick-
up date has been agreed on in conjunction with this adoption (If so, please note projected
pick-up date: none). If the horse has not been picked-up within the time frame stated
herein, fees of $____ per day will be charged, due immediately.
All fees are payable via money-order, wire transfer or PayPal (additional fees of 3.5% apply
for ALL PayPal payments) - credit-card payments are possible via PayPal only (3.5% fees
apply).
I HAVE READ AND THOROUGHLY UNDERSTAND THESE TERMS OF ADOPTION, AND
AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE ENTIRE AGREEMENT.
